Loved all the stories, and yes I am more open to everything since dx. Here is mine. My CA27-29 markers have been rising slightly since December (28-37-41-46). My oncol asked if I wanted a PET scan to check if there was any new activity. I said yes. I was so sure that something was going to show up because my lower back and hips ache to the point of waking me up in the middle of the night. Well I had PET scan last Wed. I put my mothers ring on Fri morning because I did not want to hear the results alone. It is an opal ring that my husband I gave her for babysitting the kids when the were small (They are now 27 & 29). I wore it the first year after her death whenever I missed her (especially holidays). I seldom ware it now, but really felt a strong need to put it on last Fri. The oncol office did not call until 4:30 while I was at work. I rubbed the ring and got ready for the worst. To my supprise, nothing except possible inflamation at previous surgical site showed up. It may have just been too soon for the PET scan to show anything, but I am thrilled just the same. I did have to spray Windex on my finger to get the ring off the next day. (Windex, not soap or lotion works great - tip from jewler). I guess this is also a sign that I should start losing some weight.
