Navelbine and abnormal CBC smear cells
hi has any one had abnormal cbc with taking Navelbine?
I started Navelbine in late june 2013 and have been off since 8/16/13. Navelbine and Tykerb, It Herceptin, and Iv herceptin and decadron, blood sugars, and constant poops pure fluid, that required IV hydration with potassium and magnesium.
I started looking at my labs and talked to my onc. the lab reports, show morphology changes including, 1-2+Anisocytosis, 1+ Hypochromia, 2+microcytosis, 1+polychromasia, tear drop cells, 1+Basophilic Stippling, large platelets present.
Got the look from onc that you know Chemo drugs can cause other cancers! This started After starting Navelbine. does it get better, with no chemo?
My last MRI of Brain was clear of cancer, neck has arthritis, lumbar arthritis, Thoracic spine praise God no new lesions, top at t-3 has shrunk, the bottom one at t8-9 same size less edema. Insurance will not pay for a PET/Ct, so go in Friday for Ct abdomen/pelvis and Nuc med Bone scan. I had fallen a couple of times in July, so I have a lot of pain on my right side rib. CXR clear. Praying not cancer, it is not gallbladder. My last echo was almost E/f was 70%. I have bilateral lower leg edema, that no one can explain, it is not cardio, nor Lyphedema or a clot. Tried HCTZ, no real effect, so now going to try Lasix. Had petichiea for low platelets, these are now brown spots instead. I have muscle wasting in my quads again from the steroids, now use a 4 wheel drive 10 inch wheeled walker. The swelling does not always go away with leg elevation, or overnight with feet elevated.
I started 100mg It Herceptin and will continue on that dose weekly. After 3 or 4 more 100mg, then will Have to wait till sometime in November to rescan. Have a lot of pain in upper areas between shoulder blades. I know reading Mario and Paul posts it takes time for the lesions to go away. Especially at the lower doses, and I can only get the IT once a week. But overall God has been good.

10/12 t 2-4 shrunk t-9 grew start Xeloda, 02/13 stop xeloda,5/13 on metformin, decadron, Tykerb, iv and IT herceptin 5/30/13 total #11 #2 of 80mg dose weekly.
9/13 100mg of IT her, IV hern, 750 mg tykerb, 3mg dec.
last Mri T--3 SHRUNK t7-9 shrunk no edema. Left shift in CBC bone marrow BX negative.
10/13 Ct has shown Double left ureters with stones/cysts in them, after 3 births and lots and U/S iit takes cancer to figure out you have 2 smaller ureters going into 1 kidney!
12/13 Mri brain no new lesions, cervical and lumbar arthritis.
Tspine lesion at T3 stable, T 7-9 GROWTH lots of pain
1/29/14 HIHO HIHO its off to Neuro surgery I go
