Gemzar Woes, Questions

Hi her2 friends,
I started Gemzar with Herceptin in early October and have had numerous problems. First my liver enzymes skyrocketed one week after the first treatment and increased more after the second treatment (which was at a reduced dose) After 2 weeks off, my enzymes did go down quite a bit, but not to the pre-treatment levels. Any of you also get large spikes in liver enzymes after Gemzar?

Also my tumor markers have continued to rise, but I have had only 2 Gemzar treatments. Did anyone else get rising tumor markers after a couple Gemzar treatments? How soon do you know Gemzar is working? This is a wonderful group, with everyone sharing experiences and helping others. Look forward to hearing from you. Lida
