Vic Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2007 Location: Newport Beach, CA Posts: 161	HER2 article genetic key found Found this on the www.breastcancer.org site. http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/127700.ph __________________ Diagnosed 12/03 at age 53 1.5cm tumor, ER-PR-, Her2 3+(rt side) Stage 1B, Three negative nodes from Sentinel Node Biopsy Paget's of the nipple, Infiltrating Ductal Carcinoma and DCIS of the rt breast Bloom-Richardson score 8/9, P53+ 60-70%, Ki-67+ 30-40% Skin-sparing mastectomy with immediate lat-flap reconstruction and saline implants, 1/04 Chemo: FAC, five sessions every three weeks Feb.-May 04, then switched to HTC weekly for 12 weeks, June-Aug 04 Zometa every 6 months for osteopenia, started April 09

Nottingham Grade 7/9 ER 91% PR 62%; Her2 3.6 by ICH; KI-67 35% Nov 2004 Lumpectomy; SNB failed so had full axillary clearance; Dec 2004 2nd lumpy for clean DCIS margins. Jan/Feb 2005 4 A/C dose dense; 33 rads finished 6/2005; Began 5 years Arimidex in 6/2005 No Herceptin 9/2007 Quit Arimidex due to severe side effects. NED

Thanks for the link. __________________ Blessings and Peace, Barbara DX Oct 02 @ age 52 Stage 2B Grade 3 Mastectomy "at least" 4.5 cm IDC 1+node ER+61% /PR- Assiciated Intraductual component with Comedo Necrosis Her2+ FISH8.6 IHC 2+ 5 1/2 CEF Arimidex Celebrex 400mg daily for 13 months Prophylactic mastectomy Estradiol #: 13 PTEN positive, "late" Herceptin (26 months after chemo) Oct 05: Actonel for osteopenia from Arimidex. May 08: Replaced Actonel with Zometa . Taking every 6 months. Accepting the gift of life, I give thanks for it and live it in fullness.

Imagine what could be done with twice the funding for cancer research. __________________ "Dancers Against Cancer" in the Eugene, OR Komen Race for the Cure 2010 Diagnosed 8/7/08 with stage 3 invasive ductal carcinoma, micropapillary pattern, Her2 3+, ER+,PR-, grade II, positive lymph nodes. Received 6doses of Taxotere, Carboplatin with Herceptin continuing for a year...DONE. 1/28/09 Left Modified Radical Mastectomy, Right Simple Mastectomy. Surgery pathology: No invasive carcinoma present and 17 lymph nodes removed all negative! Only small amount of carcinoma in situ in left breast. March/April '09, Radiation to left chest wall.
