Tamara, I personally haven't dealt with CTCA...but Lu Ann which has since passed away sure did. We use to talk via email quite a bit and she absolutely loved them. CTCA paid for there flight out there & lodging at that time. She said she was never treated as well as she was there. She was very pleased with their treatment for her.
You might try the "search" on this board and type in "CTCA" and you will find some posts about them. I do know if you call CTCA they will answer all your questions & send you a video tape along with other information on their cancer center which might be helpful. But as Lani mentioned it would help to know where she lived so we can give you other recommendations...that way your friend will have other options. Your friend is wise to get a 2nd opinion. 11-19-09 RT. Femur surgery - Rod placed
12-7-09 Navelbine added to Herceptin/Zometa.
3-23-10 Ten days of rads to RT femur. Completed.
4-05-10 Quit Navelbine--Herceptin/Zometa alone.
5-4-10 Appt. with Dr. Slamon to see what is next? Waiting on FISH results from femur biopsy.
Results to FISH was unsuccessful--this happens less then 2% of the time.
7-7-10 Recurrence to RT axilla again. Back to UCLA for options.
