Words of Wisdom from our beloved Mary Jo

Hi everyone.

Mary Jo wrote a beautiful response in another thread and I am afraid some will miss her thoughts. So, I took the liberty of copying it and starting a new thread with it so that more would have the chance of reading it. (I hope this is ok Mary Jo.)

Lisa

Below is Mary Jo's post-

Hello all.....

I too feel as if this is a journey. We learn something new each day as we walk this road. The road we all travel is wrought with all different learning experiences and all different emotions as we travel it.

When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I too never asked "why me?" But I did ask, "why did this happen and what am I to learn from this experience." When I heard the words, "you have breast cancer" I hung up the phone - sat down on the bed and said "Lord, if I ever needed you, it is now." "Please show me what I am to do and let all I do and say bring all glory to you." From that moment on it's been a real RIDE. Good days - bad days - sad days - happy days BUT not a one of those days didn't teach me something about myself and each of those days has brought me to the woman I am today. A way happier woman and a woman who is at Peace with herself and her God.

I've come to realize that yes, bad things happen to good people but they also happen to bad people. Bad things happen to everyone and although we can't control all that comes our way we can choose how we react (as Andi points us to us often times) to the bad that comes.

One day my "journey" will be over. My life will carry on in Eternity in Heaven because my Savior Jesus paid the price for me. I thank Him for that as I thank Him for this journey. I pray as I walk it I touch many people with the Love He has first given to me and that I would always choose to react positively to whatever comes my way and look at each those "whatevers" as ways to become all He wants for me.

Love and Peace...

Mary Jo

Thank you Becca

Thank you Becca for acknowledging Mary Jo's heartfelt post. Mary Jo shares so much of herself with all of us. She is always right there with words of encouragement, love, and prayers. She is always uplifting. I would like to ask EVERYONE on this site a favor- if Mary Jo has touched any of you out there, please let her know. All of us need words of encouragement now and again and I would like to encourage OUR Mary Jo. Even just a little thank you does so much!

I always feel conforted by all the beautiful thoughts that you let me read here. I am soooo grateful to God that he let me found you and feel supported by you all, knowing your experiences and learning from you, learning from the beautiful soul revelations that you express on these posts. Thank you Marie Jo and thanks to all of you for being there. Even when you may be so far away in physical distance, you are so close because of what we share together. God bless you all.

Thank you Bill & Patty

Thank you Bill & Patty for posting your thoughtful words to Mary Jo. Her posts always uplift me. I know that they uplift many, many others as well. Everyone here should know how she was able to pull my dear sister from such deep sadness over her BC. Leslie relies so much on Mary Jo's words of inspiration and I watch and read her posts all the time, knowing that she is doing the same thing for countless others, including me. She helps me to be a better person!

Lisa,
Your words and your thoughts of me are really way too kind and this thread embarrasses me somewhat as I don't feel that I'm worthy of any special words of encouragement.

However, you are very kind and I thank you for being so special.

Love to you and Peace....

Mary Jo
