Illinois Her2 Group Get Together Today

Thank you DonnaD for setting up this meeting....5 of us had a great lunch at the Cheescake Factory (we were good, no cheesecake)...it is so nice to meet others from our site one on one. From L to right...Chicagoetc aka Melanie, Sheila, DonnaD, RuthT, and Rina...aka Riniana...had a wonderful time....we were 5 for 5...all Her2+ and ER-PR-.....we have already set the date for lunch in March....maybe more can attend. In meeting each other, we realize how truly blessed we are to have this site and each other.

It was nice! I appreciate this website a lot. But meeting others in person makes it much fuller in terms of relationships. Hoping others (in/around Illinois) can join us in March!

Yeah, Pink, I'm with you! Cheesecake factory with no namesake dessert? What's the point???

Next, Sheila, you're going to be telling us you had not chocolate martinis, either!

I don't drink, really ...
except for a shot of Bailey's
Irish Cream in my Christmas morning coffee.

Is there really a chocolate martini?
How do you get chocolate into it?
Just wondering ... in case some day
I am forced to have a drink for some
special occasion it may as well
have chocolate in it - can't hurt.

Not like I am a bartender or anything, but I make my own and I use Godiva chocolate liquer, vanilla vodka, more godiva (it comes light and dark...can never have too much chocolate), put it in my James Bond 007 shaker...and there you have it...heavenly....to me it tastes like choclate milk, with a kick of course! Come to Illinois, I'll make you one....speaking of chocolate, I also like mudslides, which my preferred is Fridays brand,, in to the blender with ice and it tastes like a chocolate milkshake, with a kick.....I have also perfected Mojitos....which my hubby loves....all this talk and I haven't had a drink in over a month....I prefer Beer, Miller Lite, but with chemo, it doesn't taste too good, and everything else seems to give me heartburn, so for right now, I just have water, with a lime of course (and the lime is washed)

Thanks Sheila
I guess I had better take a trip to
the liquor store one of these days.
I know about chocolate liqueurs but
not about vanilla vodka. I have
heard about Mudslides but haven't tasted
one. You do sound somewhat expert
on this.

I also like things that taste like chocolate
milk, that's why I toss the Bailey's in my
coffee sometimes. I only like booze that
tastes good. Maybe I'll make a chocolate
martini my new "once a year" drink.
I've never heard of a Mojitos.

Jealousy raises it's ugly head!

No fair!!! I don't think there is another member within 350 miles of me. I guess that's what you get for living in God's country (when its not snowing). I do know that in Oregon we have some & Washington are some and I know how to get to see Tricia K. in Utah. I guess
I'll just have to glean pleasure from seeing you all get together.
Love & hugs,
Marlys
P.S. By the way you all look FABULOUS DARLINGS!!!!!
