Flu or cold anyone?

I rarely get sick, but now I have a full-blown cold, or maybe its the flu? Have any of you had it lately? Most obvious symptoms: lack of energy, runny nose, cough....

Just curious and bored from just lying around so I thought I would ask around....

I think that the flu symptoms are a lot more severe than that of a cold.
You would have high fever, aches and pains. Probably won't be able to sit in front of the computer and type the question...

Hello, Maryanne, some of the symptoms sound like Herceptin stuff. Try to drink more water and juices and rest and use Professor Sister Bill's cure for everything, go light some candles, put on some soothing music (flute music, or whatever you find relaxing, usually without words is best) and take a nice, long hot bath, and take Andi's advice and visualize your body healing itself and then crawl into a warm bed and sleep the sleep of one who is at peace with God and the Universe and know that countless people are praying for your health and well-being (that goes for you all) Love, Bill

Yes Jackie, you are right, I probably just have a cold. I know for sure it is not herceptin stuff, the symptoms are too acute. I use to have a very slightly drippy nose and I know THAT was from the herceptin. I finished herceptin 3 wks ago.

I like your advice Bill, funny, but that is what I do most days to relax! I always light candles when I take my nice long baths or even my showers! It really relaxes my mind and body when I do that. AND....most times when I drift off to sleep at night, my last thoughts for the day center around the peace and love that I am so fortunate enough to have for that day. I have seen enough nights when I had so many health concerns and choices to consider. I know now that the future will bring which the future will bring. So each night now when I go to sleep, I try my best to appreciate the blessings that I have for that day and that night so it does not go ungratified.

Wow, that is a quite a pic of Nicola in church! In the picture I can see her kneeling and praying and the church itself looks almost without walls. And is that a garden or forest surrounding the church? Wow, what a picture....

I am feeling better. I went for this acupunture today and the acupunturist gave me these Chinese herbs for my cold. I think it might be helping.

Harrie,

I have not been sick in a really long time and about a month ago, I got a horrible cold. I was so sick, I couldn't get out of bed. You probably have a bad cold.

I am just getting over the flu - it has now been 2 1/2 weeks, I had a high fever, terrible cough, no energy and a runny/stuffed nose. I was unable to go to work for 1 week.

Knock on my "noggin" no sickness here. Neither my husband or myself. We run way ahead of those bugs so they can't catch us.

Happy Sunday to all................

Yeah, I had it. I am 96% better now. It lasted for 2 and a half weeks. I had high fever, major fatigue, body aches and mucus that went straight to my chest. I ended up taking cipro and then later a z-pack. The coughing was bad. I have a bad lower back and injured it again by coughing. The only relief I would get was to lay in Child's pose position (yoga pose) in the shower and cough up everything in my lungs. I had to take 3 days off of work. Now that I feel better, I am so so thankful. It was nasty.
I hope next year the flu vaccine is more accurate. I hope everyone else does not have the symptoms as bad as I did.

Laurie,
I appreciate the helpful hint on the child's pose for the congested cough area. Do you suggest any other yoga positions?

I was feeling so lucky because I had missed most of the sickness so far, then, of course, yesterday morning I woke up with a bad cold. Terrible cough, congestions, YUK. But it is just a "common" cold. No more. Yea!

And Laurie, I do love your new picture. You look great!

Harrie, glad you like the picture. Nicola is kneeling in a monument in honor of Pole Green Church, erected on the site where the British burnt down the original church during the Revolutionary War. I first saw the monument when passing by during the twilight hours. The monument consists of window frames and a door frame suspended by nearly invisible supports in the near darkness. It's really awesome when you see it first-hand and it's surrounded by woods. That first night it scared the heck outta me, a church glowing off in the woods, "what the..., what's that, a ghost church?" I floored it and got the heck outta there. When I got home, Nikki said, "what's wrong with you? You look like you've just seen a ghost, you're pale and shaking like a leaf" "Nothing, Honey, I just had a nervous day at work, that's all". I slept fitfully that night, sweating, thrashing around, dreaming of churches coming to get me, "you should have come here more often, now we're coming to get youuuuuuu" The next morning I got up early and did what anybody would do. I said my morning prayers, and threw my shotgun and Bible in the front seat of my Explorer and headed down the road. " I'm gonna settle this". When I got to where the ghost church was, I tucked my Bible into my waist-belt, checked my double-barrel, stuffed some extra shells in my pockets, tucked one behind each ear (learned that one in survival school) and headed down the trail. I cleared my mind and became one with the woods. I was in the "Zone". As I approached the ghost church, I sensed a presence to my left, and with an uncanny, superhuman response, turned, dropped to one knee and fired both barrels directly into the chirping cricket. I got up, went down the trail and immediately bumped into a huge sign, bruising my bad knee. "On this site, during the British Invasion......" I read on and on, yeah that's what I thought it was, a monument. Well, there's your answer, Harrie. Love, Bill
