Question about Herceptin..

Hi everyone. Just came across this board. I am currently doing Radiation and Herceptin. Finished my AC and Taxol. Was diagnosied with StageIIA BC last July at age 26.

My question is does or did anyone have any hip pain from the Herceptin? My left hip as been hurting. Nothing to severe and it will usually go away if I walk a little.

I am hoping its nothing but I worry about every little pain I have now since this whole breast cancer thing!

Thanks!
Amanda

Good Morning Amanda,

Yes, I had hip pain on herceptin. Almost the entire time I was on it. Also I had knee pain when doing steps first thing in the morning or after sitting for a while. Like you, when I was up and about and did my walks that pretty much took care of it. However, it seems from many on the baord here, that joint pain on herceptin is pretty common. I've been off herceptin since October, 2006 and all joint pain is gone. Now it's just "old age" pain I think. LOL! Kidding! Seriously, the joint pain is gone.

Take care! God Bless and a hug of support and love I send.

Mary Jo

I had lots of aches while I was on Herceptin, starting about the sixth week. Theses aches were prevalent only the first few days after my Herceptin infusion .

Dear dear Amanda...................Worrying about "everything" is normal also. That is the most unfortunate part of a cancer diagnosis. I can promise you though that it does get easier with time. You learn to adjust to your "new normal" and learn to roll with the punches.

I pray God's Peace to surround you this day.

Amanda,

I've been suffering with bone/joint pain since beginning Herceptin. Here's a link from this site that you may be interested in reading - it's all about Herceptin side effects.
