				Another Crazy "Cancer Moment"  :-)

 If I have anymore "cancer moments", my hubby may just divorce me :-). First I traded my minivan in for a convertible. Good God, what was I thinking?! (my girlfriend, who was dx'd within days of me, went out and bought the biggest jet ski that she could find and she had never been on one in her life!) The new moment included getting a tatoo. Did you know that if you don't have a tatoo outlined, that it will disappear in a few years? The colored ink doesn't last. It's the black ink that they use to outline that makes a tatoo permanent. Anyways, I got a pink ribbon on my shoulder. The idea is...(hopefully)... that as the tatoo disappears, that the cancer and fears will diminsh (never disappear of course) also. Kind of symbolic I guess. I actually really like it. It is very "girly" without the black ink and turned out kind of pretty. I should have freaked out the hubby and come home with a big "biker chick" skull and crossbones. :-)
 I will try to upload a picture- I might have to put it in the gallery section.

 Love, Kelly

				 Did not see the picture..
 did you down load it? I was interested as I have always thought of having a very small one done on either my ankle (that area sounds painful or on my shoulder) A pink ribbon sounds great.
 Dont' feel like you are crazy or alone. I bought myself a Jaguar 3 1/2 years ago (I lease so more affordable) and am soon thinking to change it for a convertible.

 I am looking around and am going to start test driving soon. I all of a sudden got this desire to drive around in a convertible Beetle. I guess I am going back to my youth when they were fun to drive. I feel like it might just be a little fun to have one or a convertible something. Its funny since I dont even like to drive with my windows open...... but since I don't really have much hair, this could work lol...

 You keep on doing these things that make you feel good Kelly.I think its good medicine for our souls.

 Take care and let me know if you get the picture in.

 I'm liking the convertible part! I live on the coast of Texas near Corpus Christi and a convertible would really be fun!
 Can't wait to hear more stories.

	 | Ughhhh.....Irene.....I am SO "COMPUTER CHALLENGED". The only place that I could get it to come up was on my "profile picture". I have the original design, and was trying to add it as a graphic on my signature, but that's way above my skill level...... :-)

	 | The place that we go to, to get tatoo's does most of their outlining in brown. The brown enhansis the design much better then the black. You can probably go back and have them outline your design. My friend got a big eagle on his arm outline in brown and it looked beautiful. |

	 | Hi all
 I already have the convertible, but the tatoo I do not. I have these moments a
 lot. I always bought and wore small earrings, but then with no hair and now short hair, my earrings are longer and bolder and I have bought lots and lots and can't stop. This is the best support group and I thank each and everyone of you for your support and ideas on food, vitamins, meds, tatoos, cars, etc. I am so computer challenged that I can't get my picture to come up at all, but I enjoy seeing you all and Beckys smiling face. I feel like I know you. And a special thanks to Joe and Christine.

	 | Well, I really got a good laugh from you all. I never brought a new car instead I guess, I settled for the green shoes!! Everyone mentions my green shoes and tells me that is so out of character for me but they look really nice with my jogging suit that has green strips that match my shoes which are tennis material. I may look for some shorts to match them. By the way it is bright lime green. We all need to have fun with this disease. hugs, Sandy

 I am counting the days as I have a convertible that my Uncle left me when he passed away...I never drive it in the winter, or if its raining, looks like rain, smells like rain etc. He lived in Reno and kept the car immaculate...it only has 30,000 miles on it...it's a Mercedes SL600...it goes so fast it is scary...anyway, I put the top down and insurance on mid April...then look out world!!! It is the best feeling with the wind in your hair!

				 Tattoo
 Enjoy your tattoo! Also remember to put sunblock on it if you go out in the sun if you want the color to stay brighter otherwise it will fade.
I got a tattoo last November, a few mere weeks before being dxed. It was in celebration of my 46th birthday but mostly in celebration of losing approx 125 lbs (via gastric bypass surgery in May of 2005).

Here is a link to it - this is right after it was done so it's a big reddish around it and glossy from the vasoline on it.

http://pic18.picturetrail.com/VOL894.../204190125.jpg
I'm thinking of adding a couple of pink ribbons around it. One for my sister who was dxed January of 2006 and me in November of 2006 but we'll see.

				 This is fun ladies....
 some fun conversation is what we need more of...
 Kelly - I saw your tatoo and it is fabulous girl. Did it hurt to get it done?
 I had my eyebrows done a few years ago so I don't know why I
 would be so nervous. I would love to have a small one done. I
 am going to give it some thought. What the hey, throw caution
 to the wind. I have always been so cautious all of my life and
 feel it's time to do everything I always thought of doing.
 We are going Hot Air Balloon flying hopefully this week-end. I am
 scared of heights but like I said, what the hey..

 Sheila I am excited for you when you start driving your Mercedes convertible. You willl I am sure have a blast. I have never had one myself.

 And Sandy - if your green shoes get you were you are going, then that is exciting too. You go girl.

 I agree with Pat about getting bolder with the jewelry. I think it brightens
 our look some.

 This is fun. Maybe we can all talk about things we have always wanted to do but never did and see if we try to accomplish some of them.

	 | Yes, Yes, Yes to everybody here.
 My boss and I were diagnosed the same month and shared the same surgeon and oncologist. After her second AC treatment, she and her son visited a car dealer and she bought a PT cruiser convertible. She said she wanted to cruise through treatment. I had a very rough time with A/C and thought she was crazy at the time. Now I say go for it. I am taking a cruise south to Virgin Islands and St Kitts in April on the Queen Mary. Hope to go transatlantic later this year. I want to sail away. (Can't buy my own small boat due to horrible seasickness on small crafts.)

	 | I love this thread!!! We bought a Roadtrek camper...conversion van...last spring and now have our house on the market because we always said we would...downsize and travel...well, now is the time to do anything and everything I have ever wanted to do. Having cancer, and also having many close friends with breast cancer, sure has rearranged my priorities!

				 Way to go!
 Since I was dx 6 years ago I have done a few things on my list:rafted the Franklin river in Tasmania (10 day wilderness trip);
 put in a inground pool with a current and gas and solar heating;
 learning the fiddle;
 taken up tap, jazz and classical dancing;
 bought a $1800 competition slalom kayak;
 visited my sister and her boys in London;
 started writing songs and performing them;
 just in general go for it!

 Cheers

	 | I've always loved convertibles, so can't credit my having one now to this diagnosis, but they are great fun...

 and on the east coast today, at least in Philadelphia, it is what is known as a "TDD" --- a top-down day!!

 Happy Spring!
