For those on Xeloda:watch future results of trial of one week ON/one weekOFF schedule

I thought part of a recent post by Hopeful in the Article section might deserve to be seen by the greater readership of this Forum.
According to preclinical findings the one week ON/one week OFF Xeloda treatment is much more effective & less toxic than the current standard 2 weeks On/one wek OFF.
A Phase 2 clinical trial is underway.
In the interview of Dr Larry Norton (see link below: tracks 14,15) he seems quite optimistic.
If the trial confirms the earlier findings, this new schedule would either allow reduces doses for those unable to take maximum dose or permit higher doses than the standard schedule without exceeding tolerable side effects.
Searching briefly the web I found message board postings by two patients reporting off label usage of this new proposed regimen. This may mean that some oncs are not overly concerned about potential additive toxicities.
So it might be worth watching the developing clinical trial.
