Tom, how is your Mom doing?

Tom, I haven't seen you posting and am wondering how your Mom is doing? Perhaps, you are enjoying the Holiday season with her good health!! I went to a Christian concert this evening and it was wonderful with candles and singing the carols. It also included guitar, bagpipes, chimes, a great variety of music. I love this time of year and all the festive services. hugs, Sandy

Hi Sandy. Thanks for asking. Mom is doing OK right now. About the only problem I have with her is that her red blood count is still low. We go on Tuesday for another shot of Aranesp. That and some organic calve's liver and an iron supplement might do the trick. Finding the organic calve's liver should be an interesting pursuit.

I apologize for not posting more often as of late, but I injured my back lifting Mom, and I have to stay out of this chair as much as possible. Sitting in it for any period of time really get's it to achin', as they say in rural Virginia...lol.

I will see an orthopaedist at U of P soon to see how bad I whacked it. I knew it wouldn't hold up through all of the abuse I have given it (two rounds of XRT and a year of Herceptin), but I am glad it held out this long. Perhaps some physical therapy and getting back to weight training will get my back healthy again. If not, I will slam it with metronomic dosing of shrimp scampi and undergo a round of dose dense Godiva infusions. That has always worked in the past.

I will try to get back to posting more often, as I do miss reading about everyone's latest adventures. There are some exciting things happening out there in BC treatment, as well as other CAs. I see that Life Extension has offered a new form of CoQ-10 that is supposed to be exponentially more potent and bioavailable than the one before. That should be good news for those of you trying to keep your LVEFs up there. Thanks again for your concern. I hope all are well.

It's great to hear that your mom is doing so well. Sorry about your back though. I suffer from back problems myself and it's no picnic. I had my lumbar spine fused in Dec '04 and to this day still have problems. The surgery didn't fix all the problems. I like you infusion idea and perhaps that's just what I need.

Tom, I was told by my supplement consultant to be careful taking iron supplements because of the liver and its not good for the cancer. You can research this but have also read this before I was told. You may hear from others regarding this. I would look for some documented info for you but I am so busy trying to get everything done before going to San Antonio next week. It is good to hear from you and am sorry about your back. I have had problems with my back from time to time but it has always been muscular as I get away from the stretching I need to do daily. I was also told not to cook in cast iron pans (I have those at camp) because of the iron being released. So I use high grade stainless steel and I am sure that is not perfect but oh well I try to do the best I can. Wishing you well. Hugs, Sandy
