arimidex

I had a breast cancer that met. to lung and liver. I've been on tomoxifen and herceptin for almost a year and slowly my spots are getting smaller. But, I heard someone being on arimidex and herceptin for six months and their spots completely disappeared. Should I switch to arimidex? Please let me know. Thanks

Arimidex and the other aromatese inhibitors have a bette track record than tamoxifen - somewhere on this sie recently I saw someone post a study that demonstrated this.

However, you can only take arimidex if you are post menapausal. If you are not you can easily become post mena. by having lupron shots or removing your ovaries. I am doing the lupron for now.

Good luck thismay be worth talkig to your onc. about.

Kay B,
Arimidex and aromatase inhibitors are for post menopausal women. My guess is you are not. That is probably why you are getting Tamoxifen.
