Novalis Radiation Treatment for Bone Mets

Hello,

Through a search, I see a few posts regarding Novalis (directed radiotherapy). I was wondering if anyone has any updated thoughts on this treatment. It looks like most of these posts dealt with lung mets or brain mets.

Speifically, I'm looking for experience in treating limited (3 - 5 asymptomatic lesions) bone mets - but would be interested in any thoughts of those on the board.

I had it on a lung met and it didn't work. My Dr. said novalis was really like cyber knife, he said different places call it by different names. I may be checking into it for bone mets soon too. I have had regular radiation to bone mets in my back but now I have them in my hip. Some times novalis radiation can consist of a lot less treatments then regular radiation. I have to drive 50 miles one way for the novalis, so unless it is a lot less treatments or a lot better I will probably do the regular radiation. But I have read that sometimes on the novalis, you can do just 5 really strong treatments instead of 25 to 33 regular ones. Patty H
