2nd year of Herceptin?

Hi all,

This question came up before several times. But I just want to get any fresh ideas about getting Herceptin for the second year. My one year of Herceptin is going to end soon. I was diagnosed with stage 3c with 4.5 cm tumor 4 auxillay and supraclavicular nodes positive. I am in great dilemma as to proceed with second year or not for various concerns like heart problem or developing resistance to Herceptin or cancer finding someother pathways to grow ...
I value your opinions very much. Please provide me some thoughts.

Julie

Hi Julie

My personal opinion is that if you have access to Herceptin, use it. Are you having your heart monitored regularly? You could take CoQ10 to help protect your heart. I have been on Herceptin for 18 months with no problems, however the cancer has just become active again. I wonder if it may have become active quicker if I hadn't been on Herceptin.

Good luck.

Love Lisa
