xeloda effectiveness

i'm on xeloda currently. my ct scan shows area of disease is stable, but since the mets they were measuring initially have mostly resolved, they measured a different set, and the size in those has increased from the last ct scan. i've been on xeloda since june, 2 weeks on/1 off, with 2 extended breaks, one in august and one before christmas. has anyone on xeloda continued to experience improvment (or stability) in these circumstances, or is it time to look for another treatment?

Hi Shell, I went through the same thing, maybe your onc can add something to the mix. I found that Navelbine shifted what the Xeloda couldn't move. I am on Xeloda at the moment, started September, 2 weeks on 2 weeks off with oral cyclosphamide and I have had no resolution to my disease in my remaining breast and since I stopped my eostrogen blocker I have had a couple of lumps come up so at the moment I don't know what is going on with me or what I will be doing next until I see my onc on Tuesday. Not sure if I helped your problem any.

Lyn, I think there are some studies on concurrent administration of herceptin, chemo and an A-I or may Faslodex. I know it is against all the rules but; maybe ask your onc. We know that herceptin up-regulates ER so another possibility is stop chemo and go on Herceptin + faslodex.
