lymphadema under arm?

For about the past week I have had tremendous soreness under my arm from surgical scar down about two inches. Surgery was last Feb. and I continue to gain feeling in the mast area. Does this soreness sound like possible lymphadema? Arm and hand seem fine, no soreness or swelling there.

The soreness could also be from the nerve endings healing. I'd run it by your onc, but if you don't have swelling as well, I wouldn't think it would be lymphadema.

Sounds like it could be an infection...

Sassy,

Better have that looked at by your surgeon, your onc, and an infection specialist....if it is an infection...you will need antibiotics right away as you are most likely missing lymph nodes from your mastectomy on that side and your own immune system may have difficulty clearing it up...fyi.

Sooner is better,
Gina

Right you are Gina!

Saw surgeon today and he drew off 45cc of infection and wanted to put me in the hospital this evening. Was totally not prepared for that--have two kids to take care of, so he gave me a strong antibiotic shot, and oral antibiotic and I will probably go into hospital tomorrow.

It seems to me to be too coincidental that I had a CT scan with arterial injection on Wednesday and thats when the inflamation, pain and fever, nausea started. Has any ever heard of this type of reaction to CT?
