Hi everyone,
I am back from my craniotomy. Everything went well, except for the usual nausia I get the night after surgery. On Friday morning my neurosurgeon came by and said that he got everything out and it appears to be radiation necrosis. That is as good as news as I could have received. Of course, he is sending it in to pathology as there could be micorscopic cancer cells with the necrosis. I will have to wait until Friday to find that out.
At the moment I am on Decradon and Dilantin for the week. I hate Decradon but it is the necessary evil. All in all I feel that that the surgery went OK, even though I would have preferred not to have gone throuh it. I will continue to keep you updated. I wil not go to school this week as I feel that I would not be a fun teacher on Decadron.
This is excellent news. It really couldn't have gone better and you seem to be feeling well. Decadron is an evil must but if you are feeling well and decadron keeps you up like it does to me, clean your house (just kidding).
Barbara, I'm really glad to hear it went so well! Thanks for letting us know, and with all that "energy" from the Decadron maybe you can get all ready for Christmas this week
Just kidding, take it easy and keep us posted.
Thanks Barbara for continuing to post as you go along. As I am sure YOU know, craniotomy can be a really big word to hear and try to understand, and your posts help a lot for others to see what it means at the personal level. Best wishes for Friday's results.
