Question

Am I correct in my reading of this article that the study was done on patients that had already completed chemo? My oncologist told me he was not aware of any studies going on regarding this. I am in a clinical study but was on the arm that did not receive Herceptin. I am 18 months out and wondering if I should request Herceptin or not.

Yes it does

"after adjuvant chemotherapy" and yes, you SHOULD go for it (just MY 2 cents worth).

I just received the preliminary program from San Antonio. The HERA team is scheduled to give a presentation on December 8th.

Dear Christine

Unfortunately, I knew quite awhile ago that I would not be able to join you in San Antonio (but I plan on meeting you somewhere, sometime - maybe Atlanta). But, I would be very interested in what the HERA trial team says about the second year of Herceptin as an adjuvant and if there are any indications it is better than one year (not necessarily extremely better but if one year reduces the chance of recurrence by 46% and two years is better than 52% that would be great).

Warm regards

Becky
