Hi Marsha- I have been on xeloda for about 4 months. I am also on herceptin since March. In February, my petscan showed three 5mm spots on my lungs and a spot between my lungs. After a few months on these drugs, the scan now showed that 2 of the spots on lungs are now 3mm and one is 2mm and the spot between my lungs has disappeared.I started on 4000mg of xeloda two weeks on, one week off. It was too strong and had hand foot syndrome and lots of diahreah. They reduced the dose to 3000 mg. The hand foot syndrome is still pretty bad and I think they will reduce the dose again.Watch out for the diahreah. It started with me about the third week.I thought I could get through it on my own, but one night I had it every five minutes and it was scary. I know that two of the ladies on this board landed in the hospital for this reason while on xeloda. So make sure you take immodium. It really works and it will stop all the diahreah. When I need it I take one and maybe another later in the day. The chemo nurse said that I could take up to 8 a day, but I don't need anywhere near that amount.I think the xeloda will really work for you. Of course, pray constantly. I was praying all the time and attended daily Mass where I was annointed by two Priests. The Lord is good to me and I will praise His Holy Name forever. God Bless You, Cathy

Xeloda is what my onc. recommends with the Herceptin for stubborn mets....she has seen good success with this combo.
