The transplant team has consulted with a breast cancer specialist here in Seattle, and she recommends that I get back on herceptin this week already. They will give an infusion weekly. I hope it is not too much for my already overtaxed body

I have such tremendous lower back pain, that nothing else seems to matter much to me these days. It would be so great if they could find a reason or relieve the pain.

Well herceptin means the general consensus is I still more than likely have breast cancer cells. I cannot get a recurrence now so I guess herceptin is a good thing.

Hope you are all doing well and finding good doctors to cover all your bases......

Hugs., Lola

Dear Lola -
SO HAPPY to hear that you are recovered enough from the BMT to get Herceptin again. I think the docs would rather take the "rather be safe than sorry" route with you. After ALL you have been through, this should be mild enough!

Got my infusions today and the cancer center was really busy. You must have noticed the new addition - it will be strickly a Womens Health Center. Nothing but the BEST for us!

Glad to "see" you, Lola. Would the kind of back pain you have be helped by the use of a TENS unit?
