Thank you for all you have done for the women on this website and for your continuing efforts on behalf of the Jonnson Cancer Center.
Many of the ladies here are following your lead and are participating in several clinical trials which may not only help them personally but also help future bc patients who have not yet been diagnosed.
In the 10 years since you were first enrolled in Dr. Slamon's clinical trial, there have been many advances in the treatment of women who overexpress the HER2/neu gene. We are now the chosen ones. With less frequentcy are our members been told "your cancer is very agressive and your prognosis is poor", but instead hear that Herceptin when used in an adjuvant setting can cut recurrance rates dramaticaly.
