Is there really any help for us with HER2POS? I hear that Flaxseed is a positive thing for Breast Cancer?!

Dear oj,

Herceptin is way beyond just 'any help' for Her2neu psitive women. If somhow you don't know about it, surf this site, or just google.

And I too would be interested in the latest views on flax seed oil/flax seeds. I have read various contradictory things, and though I take it, I am always slightly doubtful.

Thanks,

Hi and welcome,

Yes, have to agree, HERCEPTIN is really a miracle for those who are Her-2 positive. If you are new to all of this, try reading this site and learning all you can to educate yourself.

You did not mention if you were ER+ or - or PR+ or -. I am ER-/PR- and her-2 +++. In my case, I prefer Evening Primrose oil and olive oil to flax seed oil...HOWEVER, if you are ER+, flax seed may work really better for you. I am also pre-menopausal. If I were post-menopausal, I would consider adding more flaxseed oil. Best shot is just to try some on yourself and see how it makes you feel. If it increases energy or calms your anxiety or whatever, continue...if you can't notice a difference think twice about continuing...and if it plain out makes you feel miserable...as it does me...smile...tired, foggy...blah blah don't take it any more and try something else. Most of us still hanging on after years of dealing with Her-2 -- I am 8 years out...so YES, trust me there is MUCH hope, have been testing our own stuff in addition to taking herceptin...but so far, herceptin is the only horse I'm betting on for repeatable results...

Best of luck to you,

Gina
