My BRCA testing is in limbo, pending insurance settlements from my reconstruction (I've been waiting for over 2 months for this to settle out so I won't have an out of pocket for the genetic testing).

However, the more research I've done, the more I have not found a single person who is her2+ and BRCA 1/2+. Ok, I take that back, I think I saw one on FORCE.

Just wondering if this is common at all and if I'm wasting my time even getting tested. (Genetic counseler recommended based on my age.)

I'll assume everyone who reads and doesn't respond is negative :) . I'm especially curious about anyone that is positive.

Thanks - Rose

I've been very curious about this too. I had one dr. tell me that if you are Her2+, you don't carry the gene. I don't know that to be true for a fact. I have never been tested, but still contemplate it. It would be nice to know if there is a correlation.

Well, based on the responses my official nonscientific theory is that the correlation is low, however, it's not impossible. I found 2 people on FORCE web site that were her2+ and BRCA+. Both BRCA1, and one of the women's genetic counseler said it was rare as well.
