For all of you who have followed Lola's new journey indicating a bone marrow transplant - the news is GREAT so far!
For those who do not know the reason for her needing such a drastic procedure, it is because she is one of the rare few chemo patients who develop a chemo-induced kind of pre-leukemia called MDA. Hers has the chromosomal mutation and would become full-blown leukemia if left untreated.
As a Her2 positive patient she has had to go off Herceptin and pass all sorts of tests to get this far. The good Lord has carried her in His arms the entire way and now she is "reborn" with the help of her sister's donated marrow.
She is in the University of Washington Medical Center hospital and has a room with a gorgeous view that allows her to see the beautiful nature here each time she looks out. This seems to be doing her spirit some good.
We need to pray that she will sail through the possible side effects now and that her family can continue to be strong and see her through this new chapter in her life.
