Hi:

Do any of you know if the United States Herceptin trials included four weeks of a taxane and Herceptin concurrently or did all use the 12 weeks of concurrent Herceptin and a Taxane? I want to discuss further treatment with my oncologist and I am not sure what to push for.

Thanks. Barb

Not sure if this answers your question--but the clinical trial that I participated in (NSABP31) consisted of 4 cycles of A/C (every three weeks), followed by 4 cycles of taxol with herceptin (every three weeks). Beginning with the first taxol administration, herceptin was administered every week for a total of 52 weeks (four weeks of taxol & herceptin, and 48 weeks of herceptin alone). Here is a link to trial information: http://www.nsabp.pitt.edu/B-31.htm

Best wishes, Mary
