Hey, your trip is coming up in about 10 days isn't it? I'll be interested in hearing an update on your cruise, especially the rapelling!!!

The rapelling sounded so cool!! I talked my hubby into signing us up for a cruise in Nov that goes to Belize, Roatan Honduras, and Playa Del Carmen in Mexico.

Can't wait to do the rapelling too! We leave from New Orleans.

Hi Esther -

How nice that you remembered - yes exactly, we will be "shipping out" on 5/22 and I can't wait. I need to get my head on other things for a while since when I return I am sure I will be starting chemo again.

But I am already having a ball with all of the shopping I have been doing (good for the soul I say) I keep finding things that I think are too cute to pass up. I go over everything as to what and when I will be wearing something - is this rediculous or what - haha.

I am still not to sure about that Tree Gliding yet although Janet has posted and said she took the same cruise and actually did the gliding , repelling and all. I was just concerned with the strength in my hands since I get so many muscle cramps in hands and legs. But I really want to do something more daring then I am accustomed to doing. I am such a wimp and I want to experience it all now. This could be a good thing.

I am so happy to hear that you are booking for Nov. I am sure you will have a marvelous time. Are you going through Carnival Line?

I will let you know how our cruise turned out on my return.

Talk to you again soon

Irene

The most strenous part of rapelling was the walk up the "mountain" or large hill depending on where you are from. The steps are fairly easy. As far as hand strength--don't worry. If you get stuck in the middle of the wire, you may have to pull your self along--I did! But if I couldn't have, one of the strong guides would have come and got me! It was really not a problem. Hand strength should not be a concern. If you can walk up a few flights of stairs, like 3 at the most 4--go for it! Have fun.
And enjoy the pretty new clothes--I sure enjoyed wearing all the new ones I got for the cruise. Great excuse to shop.

Hi Janet

Thanks for the tips -

I am assuming that you did this in Belize right? Is the area where you go for the Tree Canopy far from the ship and if we do this will there be enough time to fit something else into our day?

Someone told us to try the Cave tubing also but did not know if there is enough time to fit so many things in. What else did you do in Belize? Do you recommend other excursions/sites to see in the other ports?

Thanks for anything you can throw my way - I am really looking forward to going.

Irene
