Meredith thankyou very much indeed for the information. I don't know anything about pc's myself, but this seems to make sense. We recently had to re-boot our pc and Norton Anti-Virus was installed. I will show your post to my fiance, Jeremy, and ask him to check it out.

I am getting mouth sores from taxotere (same family as taxol) what is the mouth wash that you use? Is it chorhexidine? Your advice is much appreciated.

I have found baking soda is the best. I brush my teeth and rinse my mouth several times a day and have not have any problems with mouth sores. It turns the mouth alkaline from acidic. Acidic is what causes the sores or cankers. Good luck, hugs, Sandy

I am using Oral-B daily-use mouthnrinse with no alcohol. But I haven't gotten any mouthsores at all... if you already have them, I would follow Sandy's advice as I have seen several people's postings who say that baking soda works.

I am very fanatical with my mouthcare right now. I avoid sugar and brush my teeth (gently) and tongue anytime I eat anything (even a little snack). I rinse my mouth with water after I drink anything as well. I am flossing daily. When I get up at night, I also rinse my mouth with either water or Oral-B (because my mouth tends to dry out a bit and keep bacteria down).

When I had braces and got mouth sores, I used a product called Amosan which would numb the area and get rid of them within a day or so. Hope this helps. Take care, Merridith
