Lyn - you wrote:

Am interested in this statement as I am also on Celebrex as a preventative for more mets. I do not recall this side effect on the sheet, but maybe did not read ALL the fine print about the trial results.

It is your Mitral Valve that the heart specialist is thinking of replacing?? They CAN be repaired as my daughter has TWO valves repaired this past December. They were ready with replacements but did not need them.

Hope something willl hit that lymph node and get the thing to reduce or go away.

I, too, am taking Celebrex with the Arimidex, and was interested in the fluid/valves comment. I take 200mg twice daily.

Hi there, sorry I took a while to get back to you, I saw the Heart Surgeon on Friday, what a weird character he was, first thing he said was do I want an operation, I just said you tell me. It seems that they can repair my Mitral valve, he will gather the edges and graft skin tissue over it instead of replacing it with a metal valve which would require ongoing pills, Warfin for one. He also said that I had crappy skin from radiation and he did not know if I would heal as he would have to do the "Y" incision, I am feeling fine on my heart meds and no shortness of breath, fingers crossed, I still take fluid tablets twice a day. I am seeing the shoulder specialist on Monday so if they agree to give me a shoulder reconstruction, it is at the same hospital as my heart surgeon so if I pass this operation all will be good, if not he can step in. He also said that with the valve repair I would get 10 years before he would need to do any more, fancy that, they come with a warranty. I have only heard bad news from heart doctors about Celebrex but at the same time I read that Herceptin can cause the same effect, so what do we do? Keep on plodding on and face each challenge as we get it, who knows eventually we can get the brass ring.

Love & Hugs Lyn
