Stage IIa to Brain Mets?

I was diagnosed stage IIA last June (3 cm tumour, 6 negative nodes, er- pr+, her2+++)and just finished treatment last month and am waiting to find out my status regarding the HERA trial (yes. still!). MEANWHILE, I started getting headaches about 6 weeks ago along with a sort of fuzzy, heavy feeling in my head. Anyway. I finally got my onc. to agree to a scan (CT with contrasting dye) which I had last week. Last night he phoned to say that there is a "nodule" in the right lateral ventricle. He didn't give many details (and it was my husband who actually took the call -- I would rather hear bad news from him) but said they're "pretty sure" its not cancer but they want to now do an MRI to get a better look...
I don't believe they can rule out cancer based on a CT image, but just wonder if anyone knows what else this might be if not cancer? I see the onc. tomorrow morning and will get more details...

Any info/shared experiences would be great.

Just want to give you some encouragement, and let you know I'll be thinking about you. I had an MRI because of headaches and not feeling "right", and nothing was found, so I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and hoping your news is good.

For now I'm staying calm and hoping that this 'nodule' is something I would never have known about if not for the scan.

I was diagnosed stage IIB last December (1.7 cm tumor, 2 pos/4 negative nodes, er+ pr+, her2+++ in one breast and in-situ in other breast). To be eligible for the herceptin trial, I underwent a CAT scan, and they found a lesion/nodule in my lung. I then got an MRI and then PET scans that all indicated that it was malignant. I ended up having thorasic surgery, and the lesion turned out benign. The waiting for test results and outcome of surgery was horrible. It went on for over a month, but in the end turned out to be okay. I'm optimistic yours will be fine as well.

What an ordeal! Terrible that you had to go through so much, but oh the absolute JOY of finding out they were wrong! Thank you for sharing your story and especially for your optimism regarding the outcome of my present situation. Do you know yet if you will be receiving herceptin? ...here's hoping so.
