Welcome - HER2 Positive

Welocme to the club no-body wants to join, but i can assure you everybody is so helpful and reassuring. I am 31 and was diagnosed last August, since had a mastectomy 4 x FEC and 4 x Taxotere followed by 15 radiation treatments, i have just found out i have drawn the 2 year study on the Hera trial for my her2+++ tumours (i had 2 in left breast). Its a long hard road, but you will come through, i was back where you are in September last year thinking i wouldn't make it out the other side of that dark gloomy tunnel, but the chemo was no way near as bad as i anticipated, apart from the hair loss and occasional sickness and bone pain it was fine. Make sure you eat well and keep hydrated, also rest up as much as you can, you really need to conserve all your energies for the months ahead. I'm so sorry about your dx, but you have come to the right place. LOTS of experience here and no question is weird or silly.

Welcome.. And please let us know about your PET scan results. We have all been in that initial shock phase and survived to fight another day. So will you. Hi Shannon: I am SO glad you have found this site. There are many wonderful people here that can give you advice and support because they've "been there, done that". The fact that you are trying to get into a clinical trial is GREAT! Many of us have participated in trials and it is the way we can get cutting edge treatments. I was diagnosed 2 years ago, Stage IIIA, ER/PR+, 10 of 20 lymph nodes positive, HER2+++. Went through A/C, Taxol/Herceptin, Radiation and am presently NED (No evidence of disease). I no longer take Herceptin because I experienced some heart damage (which has since corrected itself). Please let me know how your scans turn out. Welcome to the HER2 Support site.
