Hi Lisa -
Fancy you coming to us for such advice! Well, when I was that close my med onc would NOT give me a break and made me take another 4 treatments (weekly). After that time, I had a PET which showed that the few tiny spots left were indeed scar tissue. (There was much rejoicing throughout the cancer center!) He wanted to make darn sure that as long as I was able to tolerate a few more treatments, we could put a real stop to the cancer activity.
You know my result - almost 2 years off chemo now. Those last treatments were a real drag - but now I am glad I did it.
And - don't forget - that I not only had Navelbine, but Taxol - 27 treatments on this combination.
I went flying over the islands in the Puget Sound today and it was SO beautiful. Thoughts about my cancer treatment entered my mind, and I was grateful for my good results. Mother Nature was there smiling back at me!
