Herceptin+pregnancy

Hi, I have been on herceptin+vinorelbine since last Sept. 2003, and things are going very well. I will probably start taking hercpetin only, every three weeks. HAs any of you remained pregnant during this kind of therapy? I would like to have a baby, but would like not to wait for ages.Let me know please.

A local gal became pregnant while on maintenance Herceptin and continued her treatment and pregnancy - I believe her oncologist consulted with Genentech and she may have been the first (or among the first known) people to have a successful pregnancy while on Herceptin. I wasn't on herceptin, but I was only 3 months out from treatment (A/C & taxol) when I became pregnant and all is well. I can't really help you but I want to let you know that babies CAN happen even with breast cancer, so find a dr. that will help you! (my oncologist almost had a stroke when I told him I was preggo LOL) Good luck to you. Email me if you want/need more info!

I was diagnosed at age 37 a year after I married and was planning for a baby. You can imagine the disappointment of the possibility of not having a child. I am still in the throes of treatment (Stage IV breast cancer) almost 3 years later. I too would like to try for a baby once I'm well and only if given the green light. I am though very concerned about a pregnancy being immunosuppresive. Hugs, Carol
