Lyn,

My hair started to thin but only after about 5 months of treatment did it get really noticeable. I finally shaved my head and it is growing again (even though I am still on chemo) and I have a good 3/4". The reason I stayed on this regimen is although the tumors went from 6.8 cm (largest) to a small thin line, we were not convinced that represented scar tissue. As a precautionary measure we decided to continue. The last cat scan actually showed a reduction in the "line" so we opted for another round. My cat scan is this Monday and if it is stable, I will go on maintenance herceptin. I truly had no problems and just finished my 31st treatment yesterday. I finally had to start aranesp shots probably 8 - 10 weeks ago. They are given every 2 weeks until your hemaglobin reaches 13. Lately, my hemaglobin has been above 13 so I no longer take those. That is the worst of it and I honestly didn't feel bad so go figure. Anyhow, I am certain this will work for you. Best of luck---those platinum chemos kick butt and are very synergistic with herceptin.
