Thank you for all your comments on my subject of trials and Herceptin, etc. I'm going to try to clarify what I meant to say.

There is no magic pill. And if there was, some of us would no doubt have allergic reactions to it!
Try everything you can to put your recurrence into remission or prevent it in the first place. If a treatment/trial/attempt doesn't work, cry, scream, kick the dog (O.K., don't kick the dog). Then move on. Pick yourself up (not always easy), and fight the fight with what IS available to you. None of us, patients or doctors, can predict how any one treatment will affect any one patient.
Next, re: Kitty's comment on the changes to this site. I agree, Kitty. I wonder if sites like this don't have a natural cycle. I believe that many of the "older" women on this site, the Stage IV survivors, have simply moved on to other non-cancer related parts of their lives. Bravo for them! The reason I started my previous string in the first place was because I was seeing so many posts from women upset on some level about what WASN'T happening to help them. And maybe this is the natural cycle. But I do hope this continues to be a wonderful support site, as well as an informational site to anyone who needs it. It was certainly a lifesaver for me.
