Decision on

Just had a call from my oncologist, and we've decided to complete 24 weeks of chemo/Herceptin before enrolling in the study. I think it's best not to rock the boat since it's doing the job, so I'm going to play it safe; hopefully I'll be NED for sure by then! Also a factor was the possibility of the study filling up before I finished my regimen, but so far 5 people are enrolled and they will take 20, so I think I'll still be able to get in.

Sounds as though you gave considerable thought to the trial question. With your knowledge, intuition and faith, I'm sure you made a good, but difficult, decision. Good for you!!

Lolly, that's is just where I'm teetering on right now. The Navelbine/Herceptin/Xeloda combination is working very well right now, I have been undecided as to whether to discontinue the chemo treatment now to go into the study, or not.

I was going to ask how many people they had enrolled in the study, I was wondering if they were almost full already. 5 is a good number, sounds as if I could continue the chemo for a bit and then enter the trial.

Everything will hinge on the status of my Cat scan on 8/25. I'm anxious to see what the tumors on my liver are up to...maybe they're all gone!!! Wishful thinking...

How many treatments of that 24 are left? If just a few, you can make it especially since the Arensp is kicking in for you.
Will look forward to meeting you when you come to Seattle later in the year or after the new year.
My onc also had me take 3 more treatments of the taxol/navelbine (even after clear CT) "just to be sure."
I think you are wise since this is not the first time you had these mets.
