A brief history of my wife is as follows...
diagnosed with stage IIIa her2 neu/er- and pr- breast cancer (10/03) at the age of 41. After dose dense AC-Taxol and radiation, spots were found in her lungs and liver in June. The feeling was that she was stage IV prior to treatment but the lesions were too small for the scans to pick up. Has been doing a 2 week on and 1 week off schedule of herceptin/gemzar (2 consecutive weeks of both followed by 1 week of the herceptin alone) since mid July.
