In memory of Mary

I lost a dear friend Mary who I met when she was diagnosed with a recurrance as I was diagnosed. She was sweet, funny, great dancer, mother of 5 and caring to all she met. Her tumor was located in an inoperable location (very close to her heart) and the chemotherapies (including Herceptin) that they tried just couldn't slow down the progression of the disease. I write this with a heavy heart but with the knowledge that she is at peace now and no longer in the incredible pain she suffered from severe lymphadema.

"True friends come into our lives at special times and stay. We travel separate journeys and cross different bridges with each other's help and with the wonderful feeling that we are not alone. Friendship is a special place...I'm glad we're there." Thank you, Mary.

Ruth, I am so sorry to hear of your friends passing. I also just lost a friend who I went thru chemo with on Aug. 20. I met her in the infusion room and she was just one of those people you just wish you could spend more time with. Your poem just touched me, because that is how I will remember Kim. I never know what to say at times like these, if you were here I would just give you a hug. Again, I am so sorry. K

My thoughts and prayers are with you! I too just lost a dear friend to pancreatic cancer, her name was also Mary. She was 37! I have such mixed emotions, because I miss her dearly but I also know she is out of pain and in a better place! None the less its very hard!!!

She sounds like a true inspiration and blessingof a friend...

I'm sorry you lost a good friend. It is so hard to meet people with cancer knowing that they/we might lose the fight. But life is full of risks that we need to take in order to really live. You were both blessed with the friendship from each other. Your memories will never die.
