You have to wonder about the importance of etrogenic effects in the relm of trating HER2+++ cancers. Doctors terminate anti-estrogen theray when treating stage 4 or HER2 because the anti-estrogen drugs slow the replication of the cancer cells. Since chemo targets fast replicating cells, these pre-treated cancer cells may fool the chemo into thinking that they are regular (healthy) cells.

Thanks, Al, for the info. I think I understand what you're saying about er+/her2+ treatment...

But on the other hand there is some new work being done combining anti-her2 and anti-er+ disease--a number of different clinical trials in fact ongoing right now.
