Your question is a good one and is probably raised in various ways with doctors and no conclusive answers are given. I'm on the same page as Carlye and don't think a physician can give any definites about recurrence. They do the best they can with the drug combos, surgery, etc. and we all hope for the best. I was stage 1, with infiltrating ductal carcinoma, DCIS and Paget's, 1.5 cm. tumor and 3 neg. nodes. My tumor grade was high as was my Bloom-Richardson score. ER neg, PR neg and her2+++

Nice hearing from you,

Vicki

As you all may already know, my relapse came after 9 years, when fortunately Herceptin was FDA APPROVED. What a blessing. So being Her2+++ is to our benefit when and if we need it. And there's more her2neu research and vaccine trials that may offer us more security.
Well wishes to all
Christine
