Hi All
I've been on Fosamax weekly for i yr, then I changed to Actonel for osteopenia. They are both the same, promoting bone strength and growth. Calcium Citrate w/D Plus Mg 1800/day is the supplement I take. It is easily dugested with no heartburn. I changed to Actonel because side effects on Fosamax made me achy.

Christine, what dosage of Actonel are you on? My internist had me on a once weekly dose of 70mg Fosamax for osteopenia, but I stopped after 5 weeks as I was more than achey for several days after(actually somewhat miserable). We were talking about halving the dose since 70mg is the amount prescribed for osteoporosis, or trying Actonel, then I had my recurrence so it was put on hold until after treatment. We'll be taking the issue up again this spring so I am curious about your dose of Actonel.

Love, Lolly
