I met a lady today through a friend who has recently been diagnosed with stage 1V ovarian cancer. I asked about the Her2 factor and she asked her doctor who said it was specfic to BC because of the hormonal properties. Then, she said it was confusing to her at this point. My question. Is Her2 only for BC and no other cancers? I thought it did apply to ovarian where that is hormonal. It seems we never run out of questions to ask on this board. Hugs, Sandy

I've seen it more frequently referenced in terms of other cancers under its alternative name, erbB2, c-erbB2.

Hi there, I said to my onc that apparently the Her tests can be retested at a later date and he told me he tests everyone first time around, so he does it for all the big Cs, men and women, men get BC as well so what is the hormone theory there, but for reoccurenecs he needs something to retest, I am lucky I always have a lump or skin, something easy to get at, well as lucky as someone can be with this curse.

Love & Hugs Lyn
