Thank you all for your replies & support.

Here's my hesitation in calling for results today. This week my onc. is out of town & won't be in until Monday, when I see him. His regular nurse with whom I had a good relationship quit & right now there's only an interim person who I don't know. I my experience these nurses can read what's on a report, but when asked what does this MEAN, all they'll say is you'll have to talk to the doctor.

So in general, if I get a report over the phone & it's good news, well that's great & what we all want. IF it's bad news & I still have to wait until Monday to talk with the doc & get more info I don't know how to cope with the bad stuff in the meantime. Have you gotten bad news this way & what do you do?

I read the recent post with envy about the women who found "sisters" on this site. I feel so alone with this disease. I don't have a spouse to support me. I have 2 grown sons in their 20's, but they can't help me in the way I need, they're both so terrified they make me more nervous. I don't have other family geographically or relationly close in the way I need now. I have lots of friends, but I guess no one intimate enough who has stuck with me on a regular basis. They're not bad people, they're good friends, but just wrapped up on their own lives. I do go to a support group 2 times/,month, but that doesn't fill the hole I feel either. I work for a church, get a lot of - I don't know what to call it - empathy, caring, but not anyone "in the trenches with me who "knows". Does anyone else face this & have you found ways to get help? I do take antidepressants, but don't feel depressed, just plain scared, anxious & alone. Thanks. Pam
