I don't remember the particulars of your sister's case, could you add more details?

The Herceptin/Navelbine/Xeloda combination works very well in some people. It is a heavy hitter combo when they feel it is necessary.

I was going into total liver failure from liver mets in Feb of this year. My skin was yellow, my eyes were yellow, no appetite, my liver was just shutting down.

This combination of drugs was a miracle for me! I also had bone mets in my vertebrae, these are now NED, and my liver enzymes are now in the normal range. Over 50% of the liver tumors were gone at my last ct scan, with the remaining ones all decreased in size.

I NEEDED heavy hitters at that point in time. That being said, my onc said that there were alot of options to try, when or if this one quit working.

So don't view this one as a last resort, or as if you're "squandering" something. People can and do go NED with this combination.

Is her onc recommending this combination for her at this time?
