Brain MRI was negative...but

I'm not out of the woods yet. Thank you all so very much for your love and prayers for a negative outcome...they worked! I was shocked that it was negative...but SO RELIEVED!! I have to go back and see the neuro doctor as they want to rule out eye mets. I will get an appt tomorrow. Several of the doctors have mentioned a spinal tap...of course that would be for mets in the spinal fluid or leptomenigeal mets...I can't even go there. My onc finally got my scans with contrast from Boston ER today. He will have them read tomorrow and I will know if I'm still stable in the liver. We will continue to press forward with this pupil issue and we pray that it's not cancer related! Hopefully, I will be able to remain on gemzar as it's been so easy for me.

I didn't tell any of my family members about my being admitted to the hospital or the MRI. I'm glad...I would have worried them once again. I know that I'm a huge worrier...but it's scary when someone tells you something is pressing on your III cranial nerve. MRI didn't even show inflamation to this nerve. I'm glad that test is behind me.

Thanks again

Love and hugs to all,

Judiek

Judiek-I'm so glad you got some good news, and at least a small sense of relief. I do hate that there is usually a "but...". I hope you continue to get good results from your CT scan and can get some resolution of what is going on with your eye (and that is doesn't involve the "C" word)
It's so hard to know when to tell the family, not wanting to cause them undue worry but at the same time, bearing it all yourself is hard, too. Who wouldn't be worried!
You are such a fighter - keep it up, and I'll keep up the prayers for continued good results.
Chris

That is great news! Hopefully there is not any bad news from the neur. and your eye problem will resolve on its own.

Hi Judie,
I was so pleased to hear that your MRI came back negative. I am hoping that you will continue to get positive news. I wonder if this eye issue could be a result of some sort of nerve inflamation from the chemo or even the virus you had.
Keep us informed.
Best wishes,
Barbara H.

Judiek;

I am so happy to hear of your results. I know it is such a relief!!! Celebrate!! It still seems to me that you have an aggressive cancer and I would try to get some genetic testing at this point. You are comfortable here with us....lol...that is to say we her2+'s and I would trust your instinct....we are alike in some way....so get some testing. There are marvelous drugs available if you know what direction to go in. Keep posting so we will continue to know that you are fine....as I know you will be.

Best regards,

Cathy

Congratulations on your good news!! I am still thinking that there is some kind of inflammation from chemo, as I had mentioned before. Just out of curiosity, when they did your eye exam before, didn't they check for mets at the time?
