Dear Mickey, I am really sorry you have to deal with this on top of everything else. You shouldn't be burdoned with this. The system really stinks. My husband and I went to consumer credit before we got into trouble. We heard that the credit card companies were going to increase minimum payments. We knew we would not be able to afford the higher payments along with the increase of heating fuel and gasoline. We were told that because we were not delinquent with any of our accounts they could not help us. They did not come out and tell us, but they hinted that we should file bankrupsy. We made the appointment but never followed through because a co-worker of my husbands suggested we take a loan from his 401-k. We were able to borrow enough to pay all our credit cards, doctor bills, auto, etc. The amount we pay goes back into his account along with the interest. Our payments are high, but will be paid off in 5 years. We also will be having 100.00 taken out of each pay to be put into a medical savings account pre-taxed. It can be used for all medical expenses including over the counter meds. I don't know if any of this helps you. I'm just venting my frustration with the sytem. I will keep you in my prayers, though. Take care and God Bless You and Your Family this New Year. Lu Ann.
