Ommaya, port in head, anyone have one???

So it seems the issues with my mom walking are from mets on her spine. The doctors suggested treatment via an ommaya (a port in the head) to deliver chemo into the brain and spine. She will get treatment 2 times a week and then have the spinal fluid tested for positive cells, if negative, treatment goes to once a week. One of my mom's friends had this done and she is doing well, but I haven't had a chance to talk with her yet. Anyone have experience with this??? Thanks
