Hi Amy, I am one who is on the "Alkalarian" (pH balanced) diet. I started in February, and a month ago my PET showed NED, although I'd only been given 6 months to live a year ago in July, and then maybe a year at most. (I was first diagnosed with BC 20 years ago and have had mets twice since.) My husband and I are now mostly vegetarian, eat no meat or poultry or dairy (partly because of all the hormones, too, as well as the pH values). We take a "supergreen" supplement from Dr. Robert Young's Innerlight company. We also avoid sugar, which I found became especially distasteful to me during chemo. (Cancer and sugar have an affinity). We are about 80% to 85% faithful in following this regime, but allow a small slip now and then. We bought a smallish water purifier (from the Regina Co. in Canada that Dr. Young recommends) which separates acid and alkaline, so that you drink pure alkalinized water. He also has pH drops you can put in regular water, or distilled which is better. I was on navelbine 6 mo. with herceptin and femara, and now just the two without navelbine. I feel so much better than I did and expect to be on this forever. I also lost 45 pounds. We do eat fish, nuts, lots of veggies, avacodos, some fruit, soy or rice substitutes for meat, and soy or rice milk, also whole sprouted grain bread and cereal. I can give you more information if you wish, websites and so on. I have several friends who have had great results, too. Hugs, Tricia
