Essiac tea

a friend of mine suggested this to me. it looks interesting. anyone heard of this? anyone use it?

I have tried this, it is not bad; I drank it for a year then stopped because it is $$$$$$. Instead, I recently read a well researched book called The China Study; it recommends a nonrefined, plant based diet; so I go for any fresh, green herbal non caffene tea; including home grown chamomile..

i have a friend studying Essiac for her masters thesis and highly recommends it. i also asked an alernative oncologist about it and he dismissed it saying he studied it extensively. there is a tremendous amount of anecdotal evidence that Essiac works. Some of the major institutions such as Sloan Kettering and NIH reject it but the supporters state the tests were not prepared as required for the tea. i would use it but have been cautioned against using it while taking chemo due to the possible interactions caused by the liver metabolism of both the tea and the chemo.

Anything that is not FDA approved is rejected by the medical institution and is listed on the cwack list. We need spell check here couldn't find it. I have heard good things about the tea except it is very expensive and the cheaper brands are not as good. This is not a cheap life once we get this disease. Guess, that is what these plastic cards are for. Then when we are gone some one else will have to worry about it. So what they take my house and all my assets that is why I worked as long as I could (25 years) is to have what I need in the end to be comfortable in the end. Just my opinion here. Hugs, Sandy

Hi, I took it religiously for 5 years, my dad used to make it up for me and pay for it, he died in 2003 so I kept it up for another 12 months, but all the while my mets still kept coming back in the lymphs and skin, I do believe it is good for the immune system but that was all. I still have some left in packets but I have not got around to making it up, distilled water, boiled up in stainless steel, it was a ritual that has to be carried out to the letter.

Essiac along with several other herbs, tinctures, etc. can be ordered from herbalhealer.com. They have a generic version, which is supposed to be as good as the patended brand name, at a cost of about 21.95ea if you buy 1-2; 16.00ea. 3-4; and 14.95ea. 10+ packages. Each package makes a 1-2 month supply.
