I just received this information from Maureen Pavlik - Patient Coordinator - for Her2 Vaccine trial in Pennsylvania. I will be taking my final 6th injection of the vaccine in an another week - it has been a long 6 months.

"Dr. Peoples spent some time with me (Maureen) talking about his lab studies with Herceptin and how it
appears that the effects of Herceptin facilitate better cell death when the
vaccine-generated T cells attack. "

Ronnie,
I was wondering if you could give me more info on Maureen's back ground info of her BC and how you feel about the vaccine trial and what has been the results so far? How do they distinguish between cell death and possibly going NED on your own after your intial treatment? Didn't this trial start in the mid 90"s? Is it the lack of women/men who fit the profile that it is taking so long in a phase 1 trial or is this normal? Is the vaccine a killed, modified life, or live vaccine?
I have heard that the results are very promising, 49% or something like that, but doesn't that correlate into HER2 having a recur of 50%? At least with me, that was the percentage I was given. Thank you for the info in advance. I am really glad this is almost over for the both of you and here's NED forever. Happy Thanksgiving. Take Care K
